DESCRIPTION:## Overview\n\nR Shiny is one of the most widely used packages
for building interactive web applications with R\, enabling you to transfo
rm data analyses into dynamic and user-friendly tools\, custom designed to
your purpose.\n\nShiny is the leading package for developing interactive
Web applications. It provides your users the power and sophistication of R
  with a friendly\, no-code interface\, custom designed to your purpose.\n\
nThis one-day workshop is designed for participants who already have exper
ience developing basic R Shiny applications and are ready to take their sk
ills to the next level. Through a combination of practical hands-on\, exam
ples and best practices\, you will learn how to create more robust\, scala
ble\, efficient and maintainable applications.\n\nThis workshop assumes th
at you have already used shiny and are able to build a simple Shiny app an
d will expand on this knowledge in order to allow you to build robust\, ef
ficient\, and powerful apps.\n\nWe will begin with a brief refresher on ke
y Shiny concepts before exploring a range of advanced topics. These includ
e interactive reporting with R Markdown and parameterized reports\, dashbo
ard development\, advanced user interface customization\, reactive program
ming techniques\, and the use of modules to structure complex applications
. The course will also cover common development challenges\, troubleshooti
ng strategies\, and practical tips to improve the performance\, usability\
, and reliability of your Shiny apps.\n\nBy the end of the workshop\, you
will have the knowledge and confidence to design and develop professional-
grade R Shiny applications that are both powerful and easy to use.\n\nIt w
ill begin with a short reminder of some important features of Shiny before
discussing and implementing more advanced features. We will cover in part
icular interactivity options in R (including R markdown documents with Shi
 ny components\, parameterized reports\, and dashboards)\, user interface a
nd layout options that allow you to customize the appearance of your app\,
advanced reactivity programming\, as well as ways to build complex apps u
sing modules. We will also discuss many tips and tricks to improve your Sh
iny apps\, as well as ways to troubleshoot your apps.\n\n## Audience\n\nTh
is course is designed for PhD students\, postdoctoral and other researcher
s in the life sciences from both academia and industry who are ready to ta
ke their skills to the next level to develop R Shiny applications.\n\n## L
earning outcomes\n\nAt the end of the course\, the participants should be
able to:\n* **Build** and **deploy** complex Shiny apps\n* **Apply** modul
es to make a complex app easier to develop and maintain\n* **Customize** t
he appearance of your Shiny apps\n* **Employ** advanced features of Shiny\
 n\n\n## Prerequisites\n\n### Knowledge / competencies\n\nThis course is de
signed for advanced R programmers.\n\nParticipants should have experience
in programming in R Shiny and R\, equivalent to at least the combination o
f the SIB courses ['Introduction to R Shiny'](https://www.sib.swiss/traini
ng/course/SHINY)\, '[First steps with R in Life Sciences](https://www.sib
.swiss/training/course/FSWRR)' and '[Data Visualisation with R](https://ww
 w.sib.swiss/training/course/DATVS)'. **Before registering**\, test your R
 skills with the quiz [here](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdIye
