DESCRIPTION:This series of workshops will explore EMBL-EBI data resources f
 or genomics\, transcriptomics\, protein sequences\, structures and inter
 actions\, and chemical biology. Each half-day workshop will introduce par
 ticipants to browsing\, searching\, retrieving\, and conducting a basic a
 nalysis of a wide range of biological data types. \n\nTwo workshops will 
 cover the Ensembl genome browser\, where researchers can explore annotated
  genomes and features of interest including genes\, transcripts\, and vari
 ants. Participants will also be introduced to the Variant Effect Predictor
  (VEP) tool and BioMart for bulk data download.\n\nFunctional genomics res
 ources - Array Express\, Expression Atlas - will introduce public data der
 ived from transcriptomics experiments and provide instruction on how to be
 gin investigating biological functions. Participants will also cover the S
 ingle-cell Expression Atlas and the expression data from individual cell s
 equencing.\n\nThree workshops will explore resources dedicated to protein 
 data\, covering UniProt\, the PDBe\, IntAct\, the Complex Portal\, and Rea
 ctome. These topics will provide overviews of protein sequence\, structure
 \, and interactions\; allowing participants to gain a greater understandin
 g of the role played by proteins in the cell.\n\nThe final workshop will c
 over the EBI's chemical biology resources ChEBI and MetaboLights. Particip
 ants will learn how to access information on chemical entities of biologic
 al interest\, and the myriad metabolites found in metabolomics experiement
 s.\n\n#### Virtual workshop\n\nParticipants will learn via a mix of pre-re
 corded lectures\, live presentations\, and trainer Q&amp\;A sessions. Prac
 tical experience will be developed through trainer-led demonstrations and
  personal exercises on each resource. Live sessions will be delivered usi
 ng [Zoom](https://zoom.us/) with additional support and communication fr
 om the host\, trainer and\, resource specialists in the chat stream.
