DESCRIPTION:Educators:\nHelena Schnitzer\, Daniel Wibberg (de.NBI (ELIXIR G
 ermany))\, Daniel Arend (GCBN)\, Lars Möller (BioData)\, Sophie Bosse\, W
ahib Sahwan (FAIRagro)\, Marcus Schmidt (ZALF)\n\nDate:\n30 September 2026
 \n10:00-13:00 CEST\n\nLocation:\nOnline\n\nContents:\nThis interactive wor
kshop is designed to optimise your data management workflows\, helping you
get your research data into better shape\, save valuable time\, and ensur
e long-term reproducibility.\n\nWe will walk you through the FAIR data eco
system\, introduce powerful search tools\, and dive into hands-on sessions
with a few of Germany's repositories. The event follows a structured\, th
 ree-part format:\n\nPart 1: Welcome &amp\; Joint Kick-off\nWelcome &amp\;
Introduction: A short overview of the FAIRagro\, de.NBI\, and ELIXIR-DE ne
tworks and how they support your research.\nThe SearchHub Input: A crisp\,
10-minute introduction to the SearchHub and how to use it effectively to
 discover research data.\n\nPart 2: Repository Lightning Showcases\nGet a 1
0-minute snapshot from each of our four participating repositories to unde
rstand their unique focus and data types:\n🌍 BONARES (Soil and agricult
ural data)\n🗺️ PANGAEA (Earth and environmental science data)\n🌱 e
 !DAL-PGP (Plant genetic and phenotyping data)\n\nPart 3: Deep-Dive Breakou
t Sessions (Main Part – until 13:00)\nAfter the overviews\, you will joi
n a dedicated breakout session. Each repository group hosts their own inde
pendent interactive space\, allowing you to choose where to focus. Dependi
ng on the room you choose\, this main session will feature:\n- Live softwa
re and platform demonstrations\n- Real-world scientific use cases\n- Inter
active Q&amp\;A and community discussions\n- Next steps on how to utilise
their local helpdesks and specialised workshops\n\nLearning goals:\nBy the
end of this workshop\, participants will be able to:\n\n- Identify which
core repository (BONARES\, PANGAEA\, or e!DAL-PGP) matches their specific
type of research data\n- Understand the curation\, metadata standards\, an
d submission pipelines required by each repository to get data into a high
-quality\, FAIR-compliant state.\n- Use the SearchHub alongside repository
-specific search functionalities to efficiently find and reuse high-qualit
y datasets within their scientific domain.\n- Analyse platform demonstrati
ons and active use cases within the breakout sessions to determine how to
structure their own data for publication.\n- Connect directly with the dat
a stewards\, help desks\, and specialised community workshops for the resp
ective repositories to resolve individual data management bottlenecks.\n\n
Prerequisites:\nThis workshop is primarily tailored for early-career resea
rchers\, PhD students\, and young scientists who are working with agricult
ural\, environmental\, life science\, or plant data. There is no advanced
prior knowledge of research data management or repository infrastructure r
equired to join\, making this course highly suitable for beginners who wan
t a guided introduction to the German data landscape. On the technical sid
e\, because this is a fully virtual event\, you will only need a stable in
ternet connection\, a microphone\, and a camera to participate in the repo
sitory breakout discussions and Q&amp\;A sessions actively.\n\nKeywords:\n
