Adhering to these principles also e nsures that your research is more reliable and reproducible\, as others ca n more easily access and provide feedback. In addition\, making your resea rch FAIR can promote the principles of open science and make it easier for others to contribute to and build upon your work. Finally\, many funding agencies and journals now expect that your research outputs be made FAIR a s a condition of funding or publication\, so adhering to these principles can help to ensure that your research meets these requirements.\n\nSharing and reusing data\, software\, and documentation is essential to the FAIR principles and should be a routine task for scientists. Researchers can ac hieve this by providing all necessary information (data\, software and par ameters used\, scripts for the analysis\, databases and their versions) an d using markdown to create a single file that can be easily shared as a we b page.\n\n# Audience\nThis course is addressed to computational biologist s\, bioinformaticians\, researchers\, scientists and trainers working in t he life sciences who want to learn how to make their research and training FAIRer with reproducible notebooks and websites.\n\n# Learning outcomes\n In this course\, participants will learn tools and concepts to take signif icant steps towards adhering to the FAIR principles\, which will enhance t he benefits of sharing and collaboration in research. More specifically\, at the end of the course\, the participants are expected to:\n* Create not ebooks and websites based on Markdown\, and Python or R with Quarto\n* Use Git and GitHub to version control the generated content\n* Host a website by making use of GitHub actions and GitHub pages\n* Link the GitHub repo sitory to Zenodo and give it a unique identiļ¬er (DOI)\n\n# Prerequisites \n##### Knowledge / competencies\nParticipants are expected to have an int roductory level in programming with R or Python. \n##### Technical\nPartic ipants should have a GitHub account and bring their laptops with either th e latest versions of RStudio or VSCode pre-installed.\n\n# Application\nTh e registration fees for academics are 100 CHF and 500 CHF for for-profit c ompanies.\n\nWhile participants are registered on a first come\, first ser ved basis\, exceptions may be made to ensure diversity and equity\, which may increase the time before your registration is confirmed.\n\nYou will b e informed by email of your registration confirmation. Upon reception of t he confirmation email\, participants will be asked to confirm attendance b y paying the fees within 5 days.\n\nApplications close on 30.06.2025 or as soon as the maximum capacity has been reached.
