DESCRIPTION:This **intensive 3-day course** introduces the statistical soft
ware and **programming language R** with specific focus on its application
s in **life sciences and clinical research**. \n\n\n \nEach day of the cou
 rse focuses on a specific topic\, as follows: \n\n\n**Day 1. R fundamental
s:** An introduction to the language and its interface. Get familiar with
 R\, R studio\, operators\, variables\, functions\, directories and the scr
ipt editor. \n\n\n**Day 2. Data visualisation:** Providing you with the to
ols to make publication quality plots using R. \n\n\n**Day 3. Statistical
analysis in R:** We will cover statistical methods ranging from simple uni
variate statistics to dealing with large volumes of variables using Princi
pal Component Analysis. \n\n\nThe course is designed to be **undertaken at
the student’s own pace** with **1 on 1 targeted support** from **our te
am of experts. Our team comprises computational biologists\, data scientis
ts\, and bioinformaticians** with a strong background in both wet and dry
lab projects. Empowering you on a self-learning path\, you will **gain ess
ential skills to apply R to your research projects** and to generate publi
cation-ready outputs. \n\n\nWe will also be available to **assist with you
r learning up to two months after the final day** of the course. Moreover\
, upon completion of the course\, all delegates will be **invited to join
a peer-peer support community “RClub”** to enhance their research/anal
ytical work. \n\n\nThis course runs twice a year – in **March and in Nov
emeber**. The next cohort will be held online on **4th-6th November 2026**
 . \n\n\n**Sign up using the [link provided](https://forms.cloud.microsoft/

lose on the **7th October 2026**. You must submit both a registration form
and a bursary application to be considered. \n\n\nFor more advanced data
analysis (e.g. omics) and data science projects\, we strongly recommend yo
u also sign up for our R for Data Science course. \n\n\n**Applications clo
se on the 17th November 2026**\, and spaces are limited. \n\n\nTo sign up\
