DESCRIPTION:This course will provide researchers with computational tools t
 o address their research questions in new or more efficient and reproducib
 le ways. The course is aimed at novices and no previous programming knowle
 dge is required. The course follows the [Software Carpentry teaching conce
 pt and lessons](https://software-carpentry.org/).\n\nThe course is hosted 
 by the [Centre for Digital Life Norway\,](https://www.digitallifenorway.or
 g/) [ELIXIR-Norway\,](https://elixir.no/) [NRIS](https://www.sigma2.no/nri
 s) and [the University of Bergen Library Digital Lab](https://www.uib.no/e
 n/digitallab). It is open to all PhD students\, postdocs and researchers. 
 Participants connected to one of the hosting initatives will be given prio
 rity.\n\n# Course content\nSoftware Carpentry aims to help researchers get
  their work done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic re
 search computing skills. This course will cover the following lessons: Uni
 x Shell\, R for reproducible scientific analysis\, Version Control with Gi
 t. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what t
