 gdeburg)\, Frank T. Bergmann\, Ursula Kummer (Heidelberg University)\, Wo
lfgang Müller\, Maja Rey\, Andreas Weidemann\, Ulrike Wittig (HITS) (de.N
 BI-SysBio)\n\nDate:\n20. - 22 April 2021\n\nLocation:\nonline\n\nContents:
\nKey concepts of stoichiometric and kinetic modeling of biochemical netwo
rks:\n- stoichiometric matrix and stoichiometric networks\n- steady state
 flux distributions\n- principles of constraint-based modeling\n- metabolic
flux analysis and flux optimization (flux balance analysis)\n- metabolic
pathway analysis with elementary flux modes\n- metabolic network design vi
a minimal cut sets\n- simulation of dynamic (kinetic) models\n- sensitivit
y analysis\n- carrying out parameter estimation tasks\n- model exchange us
ing SBML\nData and model management:\n- manual/programmatic access to reac
tion kinetics data from SABIO-RK\n- storage and exchange of data and model
s using FAIRDOMHub/SEEK\n- modeling specific functionalities in FAIRDOMHub
 /SEEK\n \nLearning goals:\nDuring this 3-day course\, attendees will learn
basic techniques for modeling of biochemical networks including data acce
ss and storage due to the FAIR principles. The first day introduces princi
ples of stoichiometric and constraint-based modeling coupled with hands on
exercises using CellNetAnalyzer. The second day continues with kinetic mo
deling techniques which will be illustrated and exercised with COPASI. The
third day SABIO-RK is used as a resource for kinetic data and FAIRDOM Hub
/SEEK is introduced as a data and model management platform fitted to the
needs of systems biologists. The hands on exercises throughout the three d
ays will ensure that attendees become familiar with the software tools and
  with analyzing\, creating\, editing\, importing\, simulating and storing
biochemical networks.\n\nPrerequisites:\nSome knowledge of mathematical mo
deling will be advantageous.\nThe participants should bring their own lapt
op with MATLAB installed (if you do not have MATLAB please let us know dur
ing registration so we can send you information on how to obtain a trial l
 icense).\n\nKeywords:\nCellNetAnalyzer (CNA)\, COPASI\, SBML\, FAIR\, mode
 ling\, kinetic data access\, database\, data and model management\n\nTools
 :\nCellNetAnalyzer\, COPASI\, Matlab\, SABIO-RK\, FAIRDOMHub/SEEK
